DIVERSITY OF STUDENTS AT GNI
“An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader confines of all humanity”. This was rightly quoted by Martin Luther King Jr. Every student is unique and each student has their own story to tell. It would be boring to end up in a campus with people sharing same views, same culture and background. The mixture of students with different opinions, customs, ideas and life experiences makes GNI a diverse campus.
If we look around the campus, we can see how diversity is valued. In GNI we come in contact with students from various parts of the world like Afghanistan, Bhutan, Egypt, Nepal, Sudan, Yemen and also from other states of India. GNI provides us with an environment to express our views and also listen to the views of other students. Various festivals like Gurupurab fest, Bathukamma , Diwali are celebrated by the students in the campus which greatly promotes cultural exchange. Due to diversity in the campus, students consider multiple opinions while making decisions.
GNI promotes educational opportunities to all its students. We can find a range of beliefs, ideas, ethics within the campus. Development of a society relies on accepting diverse population. In future students may have to work in an environment where co-workers or clients may be from different background. GNI provides us with a similar environment in which students will work and live. Diverse campus change student’s view on real world and helps them in accepting who they are. Therefore diversity makes GNI a unique place for innovation, growth and success.
